WRITE LINES

Work with producer and playwright Lisa Nicoll over the course of a month across four workshops. Participants will create a new 10 minute play or the beginning of a larger piece of work, culminating in a development reading with professional actors.

        The Process

Workshop 1 - Writers are lead through a series of exercises involving visual and oral stimuli to inspire material for a new play.

Workshop 2 - Writers write a 10 minute extract, with the opportunity to gain feedback and develop the text in a supportive environment.

Workshop 3 - Writers develop their extracts further. Edits and additions will be explored in response to a series of exercises.

Workshop 4- Writers meet with professional actors and a director to explore the extract in an hour long intensive session.

WRITE LINES is limited to 8 participants and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

'WRITE LINES has been an unforgettable experience. It was nothing like I had ever done before and I stand convinced that it has elevated my understanding of what it takes to be a writer. Our workshop sessions were a tremendous help when it came to visualizing what I wanted to tell and where I felt the story should go.'

In Motion Theatre Company

In Motion Theatre Company is a Glasgow-based new writing theatre company, run by Creative Director Lisa Nicoll. We develop new writing in site-specific and community environments, bringing new work to the stage. We have a dual focus - creating and touring our own work, and working with other artists to develop theirs.
