Monthly Voice Gym sessions hosted by Derby Theatre and supported by In Good Company.
Following January's 'Introduction to Breaking Down an Accent' Workshop; together we will begin to put the foundations into practice. Taking Standard/General American as our accent for this session, to break down and try out. This session will suit anyone interested in learning an accent, or performers who need to brush their Standard American up for their CV.
There will be a maximum capacity of 12 in each workshop to ensure individual coaching attention when required. The sessions will be very practical and interactive.
The Voice Gym is for all abilities and is open to anyone who is interested in using their voice to its full potential. It will be particularly useful for actors and speakers who need to keep their voice and body in tip top shape for work. Think of it as your monthly voice workout.
This session will be held in The Derby Theatres BISTRO @ Derby Theatre. There are two time slots 2pm - 4pm and 4:30pm - 6:30pm.
PLEASE WEAR SUITABLE CLOTHING THAT ALLOWS FOR FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT. PLEASE BRING A PAIR OF SOCKS IF YOU DON"T FANCY BEING BAREFOOT AND A TOWEL/YOGA TYPE MAT TO LAY ON IF REQUIRED AND YOU MAY LIKE TO BRING SOME WATER TOO.

Refunds will be offered up to 7 days in advance of the session. I appreciate illness and work commitments can be unexpected, so any payments made will be transfered to the following session if outside of the 7day refund policy. Please not they will only be transferred ONCE.
Anita is a professional voice, accent and acting coach, based in Sheffield with over twenty years of industry experience. She has taught at leading drama schools and colleges and is currently on the voice coaching team at The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire - Acting Dept. She runs a succesful private coaching business working primarily with professional actors on voice, text and accents, supporting them through audition to performance but also corporate clients developing their public speaking and presentation skills. Anita maintains strong industry links and has coached clients succesfully through auditions and performances in The Full Monty (National tour), Dick Whittington (Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds), National Youth Theatre, smaller scale theatre tours, as well as working with clients in TV, film, voice over & radio. Anita trained as an actor at ALRA working professionally for many years and holds an MA In Professional Voice Practice from The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
