The best in spontaneous comedy and theatre!
A late-night mix of improvised theatre and comedy. Everything from “Whose line is it anyway?” style games to improvised plays. Groups will invent scenes, sketches, stories and songs for your entertainment.
Every show will be a one-off, never to be seen again. Come and discover exciting worlds with fascinating characters all grown from the seed of your suggestions.
For February we have an exciting musical comedy act. Developed by members of the Newcastle improv scene, this show will bring you brand new songs, based on your suggestions. Loads of style, a little drama and some amazing singing will create something engrossing, hilarious and unique.
In April we have an exciting guest from Melbourne, Australia. Amy is an actor, improviser, teacher, director and puppeteer. She has performed all over the world and we are very excited to have her here in Newcastle; working alongside local improvisers to create something never to be seen again.
We are also always delighted to have our house act “The Hang”. The Hang like to mix up a lot of improv styles. They deliver engrossing theatrical scenes and fast-paced sketches to mine the gold nuggets found in everyday conversation. They bring together internationally trained actors and improvisers, leading local talent and fresh exciting young performers.
If you feel your life has been lacking in laughter, drama and spontaneity come along to Alphabetti theatre and…. Let Us Make It Up To You

Alphabetti Theatre is based in Newcastle Upon Tyne and was created by Ali Pritchard in 2012. We create, produce, and programme new, original work from emerging artists across the performing arts, championing work in Music, Theatre, Comedy and Poetry. We strive to make theatre that is relatable and accessible to all, and are constantly looking for new ways to challenge ourselves, physically, mentally and conceptually – we believe that by challenging ourselves we inevitably challenge the audience, creating engaging and original experiences.
