‘In delay there lies no plenty ... youth’s a stuff will not endure’.
Sun & Moon Theatre invite you to join them for Shakespeare’s most delightful yet melancholic comedy, Twelfth Night (or What You Will ).
Set during the First World War, those at home in Illyria try to forget the conflict, seeking distraction through frivolity, solace, and companionship. When refugee twins Viola and Sebastian are shipwrecked and separated, they shake up this grief-stricken community. With mistaken identity, folly and love, this is a vibrant open-air production enriched with live music, passion and wit.
United by their love for Shakespeare and desire to create joyous theatre, Sun & Moon Theatre formed in 2013, originally under the name, Midsummer Madness. Co-founders David Johnson and Melissa Barrett trained with the Year Out Drama Company in Stratford-upon-Avon and are University of Exeter alumni. David studied Drama, while Melissa read English and has an MFA in Staging Shakespeare, which included training at Shakespeare’s Globe. Their previous productions include Let’s Misbehave, Let’s Call the Whole Thing Off, Twelfth Night, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Sun and the Moon, The Tempest , and The Two Gentlemen of Verona.
