MOVING WITH TEXT
Wednesday 24th October, 10:00AM - 1:00PM
How do we work with movement in New Writing? What can gesture bring to text, to a moment, to telling a story?
Led by Allie Winton Butler this is a practical workshop for actors, writers and anyone interested in approaching New Writing through movement and gesture. Please bring clothing that you're comfortable to move in.
Allie is an award winning theatre artist and artistic director of Tidy Carnage. She has created, directed and produced all of the company’s productions. Tidy Carnage are currently developing Nino, a dance theatre show with no words, performed by Melanie Jordan and supported by Live Theatre and Arts Council England.
Other works by Tidy Carnage include: REaD (Tron, Arches and Scottish tour); Shame (Assembly - Edinburgh Fringe 2017, Citizens Theatre); Passion (Arches, Lemon Tree, Women’s Week Festival, Vault Festival); Dream//Life (Arches, Bike Shed Theatre and Cupar Arts Festival).

In Motion Theatre Company is a Glasgow-based new writing theatre company, run by Creative Director Lisa Nicoll. We develop new writing in site-specific and community environments, bringing new work to the stage. We have a dual focus - creating and touring our own work, and working with other artists to develop theirs.
