Where will the workshop take place?
The full workshop day on the 21st October will take place at Rosehip Barn (St Clether, Launceston, Cornwall, PL15 8QN).
If participants then go on to join us in performing at Carnglaze Cavern on the 26th and 27th October, additional rehearsals will take place at Carnglaze Cavern (St Neot, Liskeard, Cornwall PL14 6HQ) - arrangements to be confirmed on the 21st October as necessary or email [email protected] if you have any questions.
Who will lead the workshop day?
The day will be run by Made By Katie Green company director Katie Green (scroll down here https://madebykatiegreen.co.uk/about for Katie's biography).
What will the day include?
Warm-up class and introduction of ideas, 10-1pm
Lunch 1-2pm (please bring your own lunch)
Afternoon choreographic exploration from 2-5pm, looking at some of the themes and ideas from Beneath Our Feet and supporting participants’ exploration of their own ideas
Can you give me more information about the performance opportunity?
For those who are interested, we can also explore the possibility of workshop participants joining us to perform in our public performances of Beneath Our Feet at Carnglaze Cavern on the 26th and 27th October (there would be no additional cost for this extra opportunity, and it is not compulsory - you are welcome to attend the workshop whether or not you would like to join the company for the performances).
This opportunity would be developed in response to participants, but may include learning some repertoire from Beneath Our Feet, developing this with other workshop participants, and performing this alongside the company in Carnglaze Caverns.
Those participants interested in joining us on-site at Carnglaze Caverns would then need to attend additional rehearsals on-site during the daytime on the 26th Oct (times/details to be confirmed when we know how many people are interested in this opportunity)
Do I need to have any previous experience?
The workshop and performance opportunity is aimed at student and professional dance artists who we expect to have undertaken some vocational dance/movement training. You do not have to have previous experience of working site-specifically, but we would need to feel you could work safely on-site if participating in the performance opportunity.
What will I need to bring with me?
A packed lunch. You may want to bring a notebook and something to write with for discussions or noting down ideas but this is not essential.
What will I need to wear?
We will work in a studio on the 21st October, so please wear something in which you feel comfortable moving and plan to work in bare feet.
Will lunch/refreshments be provided?
Please bring your own packed lunch with you.
Any other questions, please contact us on [email protected] .
