Producers' Pool is a gathering of creative producers across theatre and many artforms who are based in, or focussed on making work in collaboration with, the UK.  There are currently 550 members and the monthly meetings, via Zoom, are designed to enable friends to meet, new connections to be made between future friends and collaborators, and for us to explore two questions 'what do you need ?' which someone in the room might be able to help with in some way and 'what can you offer?' by way of skill, experience, time, connections.

The focus on this meeting will to explore how we can work towards a more diverse and colourful collective of decison makers at every level of the performing arts, but focussing for our own part on theatre and events associated with theatres and communites (including digital at the moment). How do we make incremental change to ensure that our managements, our creative teams, our boards and our strategies reflect the diverse community in which we are based or seek to serve. And thereby be seen to be as colourful as, and welcoming for, our communities.

We will be joined by choreographer Dollie Henry from bop (Body of Performance) , actor/writer Andi Hall  , producer Tanya Agarwal and producer Michelle Rolfe from another bop (Birds of Paradise).  They, like us, are not experts, but they will offer their lived experience and their aspirations to the discussion as we break into groups to explore ways forward we could, should, will take.

This will be a workshop/discussion and action based gathering, but still allowing time for each attendee to voice what they need and what they can offer. Please join us for small group discussions, inspiring opinions, and time for new connections and a feeling of collaboration into the future.

Why 4.30 on a Wed ?  Well spotted it used to be 6pm on a Tuesday and, for a while, we have made two changes. We were watching people glaze over on Zoom when we started at 6pm, and having to head off to make diinner or hide. So 4.30 felt like a better time - the end of a day, still just work, but maybe a chance to relax with a sneaky glass too.  And the move from Tue to Wed is to enable more ot the MA/DipCP producers to join, who often have all day classes on Tues.   Hope this works for a few months.
