What can producers learn from the Dragon's Den of entrepreneurship, and what can entrepreneurs learn from the Show Must Go On experiences of freelance and embedded producers. I am delighted to be working with Hannah Elsy Founder & CEO of Hannah Elsy Productions and the Birmingham Enterprise Community led by Daniel Evans on the bringing together of passionate business and passionate show people. They will be joined by Lisa Wardlaw Senior Programme Executive -Bridge2Business YES and Geoff Leask Chief Executive of YES - Young Enterprise Scotland with whom I am working on the interconnection between enterprise and the arts business when working with the next generation of inventors, employers and producers.
What can we learn from each other. They will be sharing their passion for the potential of their communities of future employers/ees, and working with us on how we can think in a connected way to enrich our way of working, diversity, and access to amazing talent. There will be time to meet each other and network about creative projects as normal, but also a chance to meet some inspirational people from different walks of life.
This meeting may help us all think fifferently about our business, the language we use when talking to sponsors/investors/donors, the way we are taken seriously in the corridors of power - especially for self producing artists and those who are not 'big' players (in their own eyes).
