A brand new, extremely ridiculous cautionary tale about the potential perils of puddle jumping for children aged 7+. Featuring rain, some scientific words about the earth's atmosphere and a rather trigger-happy alien called Norma, The Perils of Puddle Jumping is an audiobook you can enjoy at home. If you need a printed version of the story instead of an audiobook, we can provide this too.

Listen to a one minute taster here.

We have very little idea what Norma looks like. The story mentions bulbous heads, big eyes and scales but that's about it. Perhaps you'd like to draw her, or even make a model of her spaceship from things you have lying about at home? We'd love to see your creations! You can share them with us on our Facebook page or on our Twitter feed.

Purchasing this audio story will support Brave Bold Drama, an award-winning theatre company, who are of course unable to tour our family theatre shows at this time. Proceeds will help to ensure their community art centre Creative Workspace can survive this period of closure.

The Perils of Puddle Jumping was written, performed and recorded by Gill Simmons, artistic director of Brave Bold Drama.

Find out more about Brave Bold Drama's work here.

If you would prefer a printed copy of the story The Perils of Puddle Jumping to read instead, please choose this option in the tickets and we can email you a copy instead of a link to the recording. In the same way, we respectfully request you don't share this printed copy with others. Thank you.

We will email you a private link to the audiobook the following day after you've purchased a ticket. This way we can keep tabs on who we've sent it to. Thank you for your patience.

We also respectfully fequest that you don't share the link with others. We have absolutely no way of supporting ourselves in our usual ways, and are instead creating music, audiobooks and stories to attempt to still generate income from our creative skills during this period of lockdown. Thank you.

Please note we are based at a community arts centre, Creative Workspace in south Bristol which is currently CLOSED. We have had to put in our address for this event in order to be able to publish it, but this is NOT an event happening at Creative Workspace, you are purchasing a link to a new audiobook which you can enjoy with your children at home.

Brave Bold Drama

Brave Bold Drama are an award-winning theatre and community arts company. We are based in Withywood, south Bristol. We are a not-for-profit community interest company. We work to find organic, flexible, people-centred ways to circumvent any financial, logistical, geographical, cultural, physical or mental health issues that could make it challenging for community members to access the arts and explore their own creativity. We work primarily with families, children, young people and people living with dementia in Hartcliffe and Withywood, but not exclusively so. Hartcliffe and Withywood are some of the most deprived wards in Bristol and in the UK.
