CaroleW Productions presents Melanie Gall's

Ingenue

Deanna Durbin, Judy Garland and the Golden Age of Hollywood

Judy is an icon—loved by generations as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. But in the 1930s, Deanna Durbin was a far bigger star. A favorite of Roosevelt, Churchill, even Mussolini, her first kiss was front page news. At 27, she disappeared to a life of obscurity in France. The true tale of the lifelong friendship and rivalry of two great stars of Old Hollywood.

“Marvelous.” —Orlando Weekly

“Sweet and Nostalgic, she’s like a Disney Princess from the Lower East Side” Uptown Magazine

“Gall has whipped up a fizzy mix of history, personality, and musicality in this charming show.” —Orlando Sentinel

***** - Gigcity

The show had sold out runs across North America summer 2019, and was picked up for an Off-Broadway 'Best of Fringe' run in New York City in Autumn 2019

Our business plan is simple! We aim to provide "A Good Night Out"! We put on shows and events that we love and hope you will too, across genres and across venues – so we haven’t made things easy for ourselves! No fun in that, is there?! Since 2017 we've programmed Theatre, Poetry, Film, Spoken Word, Craft, Music, Physical Theatre and Comedy, narrowly avoiding a graffiti workshop (our tastes are eclectic!) across Newcastle and in 2020 we'll be branching out in to Northumberland and Durham.
