Inspired by subjects that are often prohibited and overlooked, Serena creates Theatre that is abstract and unbridled stirred up from life experiences.
Serena, a Newcastle born actress, clown and theatre-maker, now based in London was recently recognised as one of the North East's most promising emerging talents. The multi platform work Serena creates is centred around challenging conceptions and smashing expectations, allowing us all to unleash our inner freaks. She chews and swallows the 'rule book' of how conventional theatre presents itself.
Previous work has toured the country, and received praise for it's eccentric and playful nature. Having performed at The Pleasance, Alphabetti Theatre, Camden People's Theatre, The Laban Theatre, The Rose Theatre, Courtyard Theatre, The Theatre Royal and The Customs House.
As a comedian / cabaret performer Serena's work focuses on gender, sexuality, class and wild clowning.

Alphabetti Theatre is based in Newcastle Upon Tyne and was created by Ali Pritchard in 2012. We create, produce, and programme new, original work from emerging artists across the performing arts, championing work in Music, Theatre, Comedy and Poetry. We strive to make theatre that is relatable and accessible to all, and are constantly looking for new ways to challenge ourselves, physically, mentally and conceptually – we believe that by challenging ourselves we inevitably challenge the audience, creating engaging and original experiences.
