Learn simple digital stop frame animation in 3 hours??

 

Do you have a smart phone or an iPad or can you borrow one ? Would you like to spend an evening working with collage & learn how to make a stop frame animation in just 3 hours?

 

Come and learn about stop motion animation with illustrator Josie Brookes in this introduction workshop using Cobalt’s back catalogue of colourful flyers and other recycled collage material. Combining stop motion techniques and collaging skills, Josie will show you how to make your own creative animation films in a relaxed environment.

Please note: you will need to bring your own iPad or smart phone and will get instructions on downloading a suitable free app prior to the workshop once your place is booked. Other equipment and materials supplied.we just need to know in advance what kind of device you are bringing so that we can provide the right clamps.

We are a fully accessible venue, happy to offer carers tickets. We are a safe space deciated to  welcoming all and operating a zero tolerance policy for harrassment of any kind. 

What will I be doing? You will be working with old riso printed posters and simple iPad aps to create really effective simple animations.

 

What do I need to bring? You need to brign a smart phone or an Ipad,  everything else will be provided.NB if you dont have a smart phone or an Ipad - contact us and we can help. 

 

Do I need any previous experience? No, this is a course for all – you just need to be open to coming and playing around with paper!

 

Will I get a finished animation on the evening? its very likely!

 

Can I bring my child? Yes 

 

What will I do if I’m hungry or thirsty! Cobalt sells very simple food, toasties, crisps, fruit etc , we have a coffee machine and a fully stocked bar!

Cobalt consists of 14 artists studios, an arts venue, a top floor hot design space in development (grants pending!) and a backyard with loads of potential for a point in the future when the main building is finished.
