Chooc Ly Tan is a French-born Afro/Vietnamese/Cambodian artist, DJ & Fine Art lecturer. Tan’s practice sets out to use systems or tools that are used to understand the world, such as logic or physics, but subvert them to suggest new visions of reality and the future. Drawing on her travels and voyages, she develops inter-disciplinary socio-political performances and installations. Recently her work has been shown at Minsheng Art Museum, Beijing, China; Chale Wote Festival, Accra, Ghana; Fondation Boghossian, Brussels; and Maraya Art Centre, Sharjah, UAE. She has recently performed her DJ sets at Regenerative Feedback 2019 at WORM Rotterdam and the Living Art Museum, in Reykjavik, Iceland. She also runs a club night called Décalé, a platform that puts on evenings of experimental, collapsing and flawless sounds/visuals.

Performance as Publishing: At home is a new performance series in the spirit of a zine. Low tech, DIY and self-organised, it is conceived as a vessel for exchange and encounters usually conducted as an informal evening in a domestic setting, with a performance, dinner, drinks and conversation.

Performance as Publishing

Performance as Publishing is an experimental artist-led project by Nicole Bachmann and Ruth Beale. Crossing manifold artists’ practices, it encompasses research into the relationship between words, images and the voice, the politics of ‘who speaks’, and physical presence vs digital proxies. Performance as Publishing is DIY and DIWO, developing and presenting performance-based projects inside and outside the institution. Each project defines a strain of practice emerging in London, the UK, and internationally, as can be seen on the Events pages.
