FLIM NITE presents

Thursday 5th December 2019
Show begins: 7.30pm
Tickets: £7 full / £5 concession
Age recommendation: 16+
Running time: Approx. 2 hours plus interval

What would ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ look like chewed up and spat out by comedians, theatremakers, writers and musicians?

We’ve sent our artists through the holiday trees of both Halloween and Christmas and entrusted them to come up with a way of meshing the two into coexistence, thereby saving Christmas!

Watch as our acts distort a Tim Burton stop-motion musical into something ridiculous, beautiful or unrecognisable for your viewing pleasure. We have entrusted each one of them with a chunk of the film to re-enact, riff around, mash up or explode. There’s no way of telling what will happen!

Cult hit FLIM NITE comes to Newcastle to spread its unique brand of mischief for the last time - don't miss your last chance to make a FLIM!

We will not be showing a movie. We will be making a FLIM.

There are THREE open mic slots available! Email us at [email protected] for a slot. Slots are three minutes long and material must be ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’-related. Remember it's flim as in FLIM and nite as in NITE. Got it?

“The group take a hammer to well-known films and smash them into something completely different – think a smorgasbord of musical interludes, a dab of poetry and an added bit of standup comedy. Trust us, it’s unlike any other night around!” - The Skinny

"With all the ramshackle pop-anarchism of Never Mind The Buzzcocks and the warmth, variety and bonhomie of a fringe arts night, FLIM NITE is going from strength to strength and is not to be missed." – NARC Magazine

“Fast becoming one of the city’s best events. If you’ve never been to FLIM NITE, GO!” – Manchester Wire

Alphabetti Theatre

Alphabetti Theatre is based in Newcastle Upon Tyne and was created by Ali Pritchard in 2012. We create, produce, and programme new, original work from emerging artists across the performing arts, championing work in Music, Theatre, Comedy and Poetry. We strive to make theatre that is relatable and accessible to all, and are constantly looking for new ways to challenge ourselves, physically, mentally and conceptually – we believe that by challenging ourselves we inevitably challenge the audience, creating engaging and original experiences.
