King Edward's Bay, North Shields

Saturday, 17 Aug

No prices yet

On Saturday 17th August, for one night only, the beautiful Tyneside cove of King Edward's Bay (known locally as ‘King Eddie’s’) will play host to a one-off, neon-lit Silent Disco party, brought to you by the passionate team behind the regularly sold-out Silent Disco Newcastle.

An ‘open-music-policy’ means that big-egos or too-cool-for-school types will be met with an inclusive, friendly atmsophere that caters to absolutely everyone’s tastes and celebrates every kind of music and music-lover at this sublime seaside gathering.

Musical duties for the night land on the shoulders of acclaimed musicians Beccy Owen and Will Lang, who will be battling it out on the night to bring you an unparallelled summer soundtrack, whilst The Cumberland Arms (Ouseburn) will be providing the licensed bar, with an emphasis on the fantastic local breweries we have here in the North East.

Beccy and Will share over 25 years of record-playing experience between them, and are sure to incorporate a wide variety of styles and genres into their sandy sets. However, it’s worth remembering that at a silent disco, it’s ultimately you who gets to choose what you listen to. By personalising the experience we encourage people to choose the sounds they want to hear in any given moment via a pair of channel-switching headphones that will be loaned to you for the night.

We haven’t figured out exactly how or why yet, but there’s something totally unique about a silent disco that creates a liberating, intimate bubble of joy for each individual party-goer whilst also building instant alliances with friends (and strangers) who happen to be listening to the same tune as you in any given moment…The fully licensed bar will also help us all stay lubricated for the evening as we dance our sandy socks off

The event is in support of CLIC Sargent, Jessie's Fund, Black and Blue, and Surfers Against Sewage.

Please note: This is an 18+ event.
